The suspect in the shooting at Mogie’s in Lower Burrell was declared competent to stand trial yesterday. The Trib reports that 47-year-old Nathan Salem of Lower Burrell is charged with first-degree murder in the death of David “Mogie” McGill. His case was put on hold after he was declared incompetent in September of 2024. Forensic psychologists have said his mental condition has improved since his time at Torrance State Hospital. The trial is set to begin in June.
