ELDERLY COUPLE ESCAPES NORTH HUNTINGDON FIRE

An elderly couple was able to escape a fire that destroyed a home in the Hahntown section North Huntingdon.  The Trib reports that the fire was reported at 11:30 yesterday morning at a home in the 300 block of Main Street.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by North Huntingdon Police.  Firefighters faced hazardous conditions, including heavy smoke, single-digit temperatures and a bone-chilling wind.
