The Westmoreland County Airport Authority is set to consider a solar project with pieces at both Arnold Palmer and Rostraver airports. Venergy Group LLC. submitted initial plans for the 28 to 30-million-dollar system earlier this week. Planners say solar panels installed at both hubs would generate well over six-and-a-half-million kilowatt hours of electricity, enough to fully power Palmer Regional and push some energy back to the grid. The Airport Authority will discuss signing a letter of intent with the developer during their meeting on March 10th.
