PennDOT and the Federal Highway Administration are getting ready for a public plans display this Thursday for the West Newton Bridge project. The Trib reports that the display will be February 19th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the West Newton Senior Center. The public will be able to ask questions of officials on the project. A temporary bridge will go in place later this year so traffic on Route 136 can continue to cross the Youghiogheny River while the bridge is worked on. The 117-year-old bridge was listed in poor condition in 2022.
