A Flood Watch is in effect for much of Western Pennsylvania today due to expected rainfall and potential ice dams. The advisory is in place for Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Forest, Indiana, Lawrence, Venango, and Westmoreland counties until 1 p.m. Officials say ice dams on rivers and streams could cause flash flooding in some areas. Anyone who lives near a waterway is advised to keep an eye on water levels into this afternoon.
