A memorial service for members of a local Army Reserve unit who were killed in the Gulf War is planned for today in Hempfield Township. A gathering honoring the 14th Quartermaster Attachment is happening at the Army Reserve Center in Carbon at 11 a.m. Thirteen members of the unit from Westmoreland and Indiana counties died after an Iraqi scud missile hit their barracks in Saudi Arabi in February of 1991. Army Colonel James E. Proctor will deliver the keynote address during the ceremony.
