TWO FORMER CORONERS BACK ON WESTMORELAND COUNTY PAYROLL

Two former Westmoreland County corners are back on the payroll.  The Trib reports that former coroner Tim Carson has started in his new job as coordinator of the county’s opioid prevention program and Ken Bacha was hired as the new chief deputy coroner.  Carson will oversee the programs funded by settlements from lawsuits against opioid manufacturers and pharmacies.  Westmoreland’s opioid prevention program is expected to be funded through $30 million in settlements paid over 17 years.
