A group is looking to turn a former trolley line into a hiking and biking trail between Irwin and North Huntingdon. The organization, Friends of Norwin Trails, is planning to contract with an engineering firm for a feasibility study on the project. The proposed Trolley Line Trail would run one-and-a-half miles from Larimer, along the edge of Hilltop Park, to First Street and Western Avenue in Irwin. The route is part of a West Penn Railway line that ran from Irwin to Trafford for 40 years, beginning in the early 1900’s.
