A man on death row for the 2009 murders of three family members will not receive a new trial according to a Westmoreland County Judge. The Trib reports that Judge Megan Billik-Defazio said that an error in leaving him out of a site visit by the jury to the crime scene was not significant enough to have impacted the jury’s guilty verdict against Kevin Murphy. He was found guilty in 2013 of killing his mother, sister and aunt at the family’s auto glass repair shop in Loyalhanna Township. Murphy has denied involvement in the murders.
