A public meeting was held yesterday to discuss the split between the Loyalhanna Watershed Association and the Ligonier Country Market. The Trib reports that the Country Market is planning to move to a fire department-owned field outside of Ligonier. Citizens and Watershed officials say that the split was due to a failure of communication and differing viewpoints on how the market should operate, including limits on how many vendors and a rain operation policy. Even though the market wishes to move, they still need to get a zoning variance and special event permits from the township supervisors. A special meeting will be held April 14th at 6:30 PM at the township building.
