GAMBLING TAX REVENUE FUNDING UNIQUE POLICE VEHICLE PURCHASES

Gambling tax revenue is funding a couple of unique police vehicle purchases in Westmoreland County.  Over one-million dollars generated by gambling at Live Casino Pittsburgh in Hempfield Township is being paid out as public safety and infrastructure grants this month.  The North Belle Vernon Police Department is using a grant of $90,000 for an all-electric patrol car to add to its small fleet.  South Greensburg is spending over $80,000 on an armored response vehicle.
