A Southwest Greensburg man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child will serve up to 14 years in prison. The Trib reports that 45-year-old Michael Bompiani was sentenced yesterday. He was accused of having sexual relations with a pre-teen girl starting in 2003. Bompiani said during the sentencing hearing that he was sorry for what happened and “I just hope the truth will come out eventually.” Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Stewart rejected a request for him to start serving his sentence in early May, stating he felt Stewart has not accepted responsibility for his actions.
