A former South Greensburg fire chief accused of taking $170,000 from the fire department faces new charges of theft from the St. Clair Cemetery Association. The Trib reports that 49-year-old Matthew White of Hempfield reportedly overpaid himself for salary and commission and wrote himself checks deleted from the accounting system in an effort to take an additional $290,500 from the cemetery association while he was superintendent. A preliminary hearing is set for April 21st for the new charges.
