WESTMORELAND COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER DOUBLES CAPACITY

The Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Center has doubled its capacity.  The Trib reports that the expansion was confirmed on Monday by executive director Rich Gordon.  He said they needed to pull the trigger on the expansion as they were housing up to 11 juveniles for several days last month.  The facility was originally built to house up to 24 juveniles but then it was reduced to 16 following a renovation in 2012.
