DELMONT WOMAN TAKES STAND IN HER OWN DEFENSE

The Delmont woman who is charged in the death of her adopted son took the stand in her own defense yesterday.  The Trib reports that Lauren Maloberti told the jury that her husband raped and emotionally controlled her and that he was responsible for the injuries that lead to Landon’s death in 2023.  She also claimed that her husband, Jacob, would beat the son in the bathroom behind a locked door.  Earlier this week, he denied responsibility in the beating.  The parents are being prosecuted separately.  The defense rested its case after her testimony and closing arguments are expected today.
