Walter Parazaider, the co-founding member of Chicago, has died at the age of 81.
His family made the announcement Wednesday, citing his battle with Alzheimer’s disease for the last six years. Parazaider played reed instruments in the band from its start in 1967 through his retirement in 2017.
His retirement came not long after the group celebrated its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
