Hempfield Township supervisors are looking to redirect nearly $925,000 in state grant funding for traffic improvements after acknowledging a proposed Menards development is no longer moving forward under its original plan. The Trib reports the store’s 2020 site plan expired at the end of 2025, despite continued discussions and an earlier extension. Menards had agreed to provide a $350,000 local match for road work near Sheraton Drive and Donohoe Road, but the township never received the funds. Supervisors have now authorized Township Manager Aaron Siko to discuss reallocating the grant to a new project.
