Operators of the Pennsylvania Turnpike are expecting big travel numbers for America’s 250th anniversary. The Turnpike Commission estimates over six-and-a-half-million travelers will use the route between today and Sunday, July 5th. Peak travel is expected tomorrow with around 720-thousand drivers as compared to about 550-thousand on an average day. Maintenance and construction crews will suspend work beginning tomorrow at 5 a.m.
