Westmoreland County is getting ready for what looks to be a week-long heatwave that will come to Western PA this week. The Trib reports that temperatures are expected to be their hottest tomorrow through Friday with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices going above 100 on a few days. This will affect the very young, the elderly, and those with chronic medical conditions. People are advised to keep hydrated, dress appropriately for the weather, and to remain in air-conditioned environments when possible. Westmoreland County has not yet issued a heat advisory as of yet.
