A Westmoreland County judge has dismissed charges of resisting arrest a Jeannette man who claimed he was the victim of excessive force by police during the investigation into the death of an e-Bike rider. The Trib reports the charges against James Grady II were dropped as Judge Tim Krieger said Grady was improperly detained while a search warrant was executed at his home last summer. Police were searching for another man authorities suspected of causing a fatal hit-and-run crash last July 31 on College Avenue near North Greengate Road. Police body-cam video played in court this year depicted officers violently confronting and subduing Grady, leaving him with a fractured vertebra and a lacerated kidney.
