Republican state Representative Eric Davanzo is criticizing some of his Democrat counterparts after he was asked to leave the House floor yesterday for wearing what he calls a “patriotic” outfit. The Westmoreland County representative says he was dressed in a suit jacket with red and white stripes and a dark blue tie with white stars as a way of celebrating America’s 250th anniversary this weekend. Democrat state House Speaker Joanna McClinton called Davanzo’s clothing a “costume,” meaning he was in violation of House rules. Davanzo decided to leave the House floor rather than remove the jacket.
