The sentencing hearing for a Delmont woman charged with the torture-muder of her adopted son is being delayed. The Trib reports that 36-year-old Lauren Maloberti was scheduled to be sentenced today but a Westmoreland County Judge delayed the hearing to give defense attorneys time to prepare arguments against a potential request for a long prison term. Prosecutors said Monday they will seek consecutive sentences that could keep Maloberti behind bars for decades. In May, a jury convicted Maloberti of third-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, child endangerment and conspiracy in connection with the beating death of 5-year-old Landon Maloberti.
