Two people from Chicago are charged in connection with a gift card scheme that targeted Dick’s Sporting Goods stores across Western PA. The Trib reports that the State Attorney General’s office filed the charges on Friday against 33-year-old Derek Bussell and 28-year-old Kayla Munoz. The company is investigating a nationwide “gift card stall drain scheme” that resulted in a loss of $180,000. The two are accused of 10 such incidents at stores at the Westmoreland Mall, Monroeville and other areas. Dick’s claimed to have evidence that Bussell and Munoz were working with five others, four men and a woman, who are believed to be participating in the same scheme across multiple states.
