IRWIN OFFICIALS AWARD CONTRACT TO BUILD TEMPORARY ROAD

Officials in Irwin have awarded a contract to build a temporary road through a vacant lot to bypass a closed bridge along Route 30.  The Trib reports that the temporary road connecting Caruthers Lane with Colony Drive, giving better access to Norwin Townhomes and Core Event Center..  El Grande Industries of Donora was awarded the $55,160 contract at Irwin’s Council Meeting.  It will cut through properties owned by Calvary Baptist Church, Norwin Townhomes LP and Albensi Management Consultants Inc. The property owners signed temporary easements that will allow the borough to build the road through their property, which would revert to those owners once the Colony Drive Bridge reopens.
