PART-TIME LATROBE BUS DRIVER FACES ABUSE CHARGES

A part-time bus driver from Latrobe now faces over 100 counts of child sexual abuse after authorities discovered he had child pornography on his phone.  The Trib reports that State police filed charges against 62-year-old Edward Smith of Latrobe in connection with an investigation that started in the fall of 2025.  Smith was a bus driver for Smith Bus Company, but company officials said he was no longer an employee, and had only worked in a part-time capacity in situations where he was never alone with children.  Smith is now in Westmoreland County Prison on $25,000 bail and a preliminary hearing set for August 17th.
