SOME SPRINGDALE CITIZENS WANT POLICE CHIEF GONE

Some citizens in Springdale want Police Chief Derek Dayoub gone. About 350 people have signed a petition on Change-dot-org calling on the Springdale Borough Council to ask Dayoub to resign or to vote against renewing his contract. Those behind the effort claim the chief encourages officers to intimidate and harass citizens while wasting taxpayer money. Springdale Councilman Dan Copeland has told TribLive he believes the council is unlikely to terminate Copeland’s contract despite the petition.
