The Monessen School District may begin the upcoming school year remotely after fungal growth was found inside its middle and high school buildings. The district has already pushed the start of classes back to September 8th and says materials inside the affected buildings are currently inaccessible. Officials say no final decision has been made, but they are preparing for remote learning if needed. Air quality testing has also been conducted at the elementary school as a precaution.
