A Washington Township woman is charged with cashing over $43,000 worth of stolen checks. The Trib reports that a woman reported to Murrysville police on August 11th that the suspect, 68-year-old Patricia Lucas, reportedly took the checks as she was helping her move. Fourty-six checks totalling over $43,000 were written to Lucas or a James Lucas between July 8th and August 10th. Lucas admitted to the victim of taking the checks, saying she had to pay off taxes and would have the money back the next day. Lucas has a preliminary hearing on September 8th.
