Senator Bob Casey’s bipartisan resolution calling for the release of a Pennsylvania man from Russian Custody has passed the US Senate. The resolution calls for the release of Marc Fogel, an IUP alumnus and educator who has been detained in Russia after he was found to have legally-prescribed marijuana in his luggage. he resolution urges the Biden Administration to prioritize securing the release of Mr. Fogel and all other U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are wrongfully detained by Russia. Fogel is currently serving a 14 year sentence at a Russian Prison Camp. Casey said “After nearly three years of captivity, Marc’s health is rapidly declining and his life is in danger. I urge President Biden and his administration to do everything possible to bring Marc home.”
