A woman who was rescued from a house fire late Saturday night in Carrick has died. Officials said Pittsburgh city fire crews responded to a residential structure fire, where a 72-year-old woman was found on the first floor of the home. Medics attempted life-saving measures and transported her to the hospital, where she was initially listed in grave condition with severe burns and smoke inhalation. Police said she later died from her injuries. They said the fire appears to be accidental, but the exact cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
