MAWC WATER VOLUNTARY CONSERVATION REQUEST

The cold weather has prompted a water conservation request from the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.  The Trib reports that authority officials said the frigid temperatures and this weekend’s thaw has stressed the water system infrastructure and supply, and supply was also impacted when people ran their taps to prevent freezing pipes.  The request impacts nearly all of the authority’s water customers, except for Ligonier.  The conservation request at this time is voluntary.
