NEW REGISTER OF WILLS AND JUDGE SWORN IN

The new county register of wills and judge were sworn into office Tuesday.  The Trib reports that 43-year-old Jon Wian was installed as the new row office leader while Judge Matt Schimizzi was officially made a Common Pleas court judge.  Wian, who previously was the chief of staff for Commissioner Sean Kertes, replaces the acting Register of Wills Katie Pecarchik, who assumed the lead role in September following the court-ordered resignation of Sherry Hamilton.  Schimizzi takes over a vacancy from the 2024 retirement of Judge Rita Hathaway.
