COUPLE HOMELESS AFTER NEW KEN FIRE

A couple is homeless after a fire early Saturday morning in New Kensington.  The Trib reports that crews were sent out at 12:47 AM to the 500 block of Oates Boulevard.  The fire started in the basement near a workbench and has been ruled accidental.  The two occupants were taken to a hospital by medics for treatment of smoke inhalation.  They were released the same day.  The American Red Cross is helping the family.  Crews were on the scene for about four hours.
