A Hempfield man faces charges related to a wrong-way crash on I-70 in February. The Trib reports that 80-year-old Daniel Oliver was arraigned on Tuesday on charges of risking a catastrophe, DUI, reckless endangerment and other crimes. State troopers say he was behind the wheel of a westbound SUV that crossed into the eastbound lane and hit three tractor-trailers just after midnight on February 10th between the New Stanton and Madison exits. The first tractor-trailer burst into flames. Police said Oliver’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit. He is free on non monetary bail. A preliminary hearing is set for July 22.
