NEW KEN MAN SENTENCED FOR BASEBALL BAT ATTACK

A New Kensington man was sentenced to four to 20 years in prison for assaulting someone with a baseball bat in March of 2025.  The Trib reports that 51-year-old Brian Mikesell pleaded guilty to a felony count of aggravated assault in connection with an incident at his home that left another man with serious injuries.  Court documents show he hit his victim multiple times in the head.  Westmoreland County prosecutors dismissed charges of attempted homicide, assault and possession of crime instruments to facilitate a plea deal.
