A case of chickenpox is being confirmed within the Monessen City School District. The district says a case of chickenpox has been confirmed at the Elementary Center. Families should monitor their children for symptoms of chickenpox, which typically begins with fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, and the development of an itchy rash. Those who want to keep their children home out of an abundance of caution can do so. The district adds that its custodial team will continue to maintain enhanced cleaning procedures inside the school.
