A bill introduced in the PA Senate would give the PIAA the authority to create separate playoff classifications for non-boundary and boundary schools. The Trib reports that non-boundary schools can cast a wide net for sports recruitment while boundary schools are limited to those players in their district, which some see as a competitive imbalance. Senator Marty Flynn of Scranton would establish separate championships for the two types of schools The bill has been referred to the Education Committee for consideration.
