STRAWPUMP FIRE DEPARTMENT COULD SOON REGAIN ITS FIRE SERVICE AREA

Strawpump fire department could soon regain its fire service area in the eastern end of North Huntingdon.  The Trib reports that the territory was split 18 months ago after the department’s insurance rating dropped to 10, which is the worst possible level.  Fire chief Ryan Senica said last Thursday before Township Commissioners that the department’s current rating is 5, which is an acceptable level.  Commissioners said they would reinstate Strawpump as the lead department for its fire service territory, and that could come as early as April 15th, the next meeting.
