Ligonier Township officials failed to approve the Waterford Volunteer Fire Department’s request to rezone its 26-acre property so it could hold the Ligonier Country Market. The Trib reports that the vote to approve the request failed to garner a second. Two supervisors were not allowed to vote on the matter due to conflicts of interest. Supervisor Wade Stoner had asked for more time to study the matter and consider alternatives. The Market was looking for a new home after it lost its lease to use a 9-acre parcel across Mill Creek on Loyalhanna Watershed Property. Representatives with Ligonier Country Market said they have other options, but declined to say what they are.
