State police arrested a man on charges related to the killing of a pet cat in Derry Township. The Trib reports that 27-year-old Tyler Rost-Maiolie was seen by a witness standing in the middle of Guthrie Road firing a pistol multiple times in the air. In an investigation, State Troopers learned that he admitted to killing the family’s pet cat and burning its remains in a fire pit. Bail was set at $50,000 during an arraignment hearing yesterday and Rost-Maiolie is now in Westmoreland County Prison. A preliminary hearing is set for April 22nd.
