A Westmoreland County Judge on Monday reduced the bail for the former South Greensburg fire chief who is charged with stealing over $170,000 from the fire department. The Trib reports that 49-year-old Matthew White is charged with theft as he reportedly transferred large sums of money from the department to his personal bank accounts to pay for gambling-related costs. Judge Christopher Feliciani ordered bail to be reduced to $5,000 unsecured bond, but he must remain under house arrest and undergo mental health treatment. He also said that he will start addressing his long-standing gambling addiction.
