A New Kensington man charged in connection with recent drug overdoses as the Westmoreland County Jail has been granted bail. The Trib reports that on Friday, 30-year-old Davi Roman was formally charged with multiple cases that go back to 2023, including the death of Terry Brumley, Jr. in September of 2023. He is also charged in connection with the death of Shaunna Thomas, formerly of Jeannette in that same time frame. Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio ruled Roman can be released on an unsecured $25,000 bond and await trial on house arrest in response to a defense claim that his speedy trial rights were violated.
