NORTH BELLE VERNON MECHANIC ORDER TO SERVE PRISON TIME FOR BILKING CLIENTS

A North Belle Vernon mechanic was ordered on Friday to serve time in prison for bilking clients.  The Trib reports that 60-year-old John Jeffres Jr. pleaded guilty in January to over 20 counts of theft and deceptive business practices for failing to repay 10 former customers nearly $37,000 for work he never completed.  Jeffries apologized, saying it was his intention to take care of everyone.  The judge ordered Jeffries to serve a series of concurrent three-to-six-year prison sentences, followed by a consecutive one-to-two-year term for related charges in a separate case.
