An Irwin woman was ordered on Monday to serve up to 12 years in prison for child endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals. The Trib reports that 34-year-old Marah Urch pleaded guilty in January to charges related to an investigation on September 22nd when a neighbor saw several unsupervised dirt-covered children chasing a dog on Short Street. Police found the home in deplorable conditions with floors covered in trash, dirty diapers and rotting food and water service shut off since June. As part of her sentence, she is not allowed to have any contact with her children.
