TESTIMONY UNDERWAY IN TRIAL OF DELMONT WOMAN

Testimony is underway in Westmoreland County in the homicide trial of a Delmont woman accused in the death of her 5-year-old adopted son. According to the Tribune-Review, prosecutors say 36-year-old Lauren Maloberti abused the child, Landon, and failed to seek medical care before his death in January 2023. Jurors heard the boy suffered severe injuries, including brain trauma, and died about a week after being hospitalized. Family members and friends testified Tuesday that Maloberti never gave a clear explanation for how those injuries happened. Defense attorneys argue prosecutors can’t prove what caused the child’s death.
