A Delmont woman’s homicide trial continues in Westmoreland County. According to the Tribune-Review, jurors heard testimony from emergency room staff who treated 5-year-old Landon Maloberti after he was brought in unresponsive in January 2023. Medical workers described the child as covered in bruises with catastrophic injuries. One nurse testified it was the worst pediatric case he had seen. Witnesses said the boy’s adoptive mother, Lauren Maloberti, gave multiple explanations for his condition, including falls and behavioral issues. Prosecutors allege she and her husband caused the injuries and failed to seek prompt medical care. Both face homicide charges.
