Penn Township is moving closer to finalizing a major overhaul of its zoning rules, aimed at attracting more businesses and easing the tax burden on residents, according to the Tribune Review. Officials say the plan is about 80 percent complete, with a final review expected in early June before a vote by commissioners later this year. The proposal would rezone several key areas for light industrial and commercial use, while also creating new residential districts to preserve the township’s rural character. Right now, about 84 percent of the township’s tax base comes from residential properties.
