IRWIN OFFICIALS WORKING TO BUILD DETOUR AROUND COLONY DRIVE BRIDGE

Officials in Irwin are working to build a detour around the Colony Drive bridge.  The Trib reports that officials are advertising for bids to build a two-lane road to connect Caruthers Lane with Colony Drive.  Engineers say The contract bids will be opened in June and a contract could be awarded to start building the temporary road sometime in July.  The route between Caruthers Lane and Colony Drive would travel through three properties, but once the new Colony Drive bridge is open, the road would revert to the private property owners.
