DELMONT COUPLE INVOLVED IN HOMICIDE CASE DIVORCES

The Delmont couple in the center of a case of third-degree murder has divorced.  The Trib reports that Lauren Maloberti, who was convicted in connection with the death of her adopted son Landon , mailed the court documents earlier this month to formally end her five-year-marriage to co-defendant and her husband, Jacob.  The request came after he testified against her in court.  The Malobertis in court proceedings blamed each other for the child’s death. Jacob Maloberti testified against his wife at her trial. He said he never saw his wife deliberately hurt the boy but suspected she was responsible for the dozens of injuries doctors said the child suffered when he was hospitalized.  Jacob Maloberti, 36, remains in jail without bond as he awaits trial on charges of criminal homicide, first-degree murder and other related offenses.
