WVU MEDICINE SIGNS POPPING UP AT INDEPENDENCE HEALTH SYSTEM HOSPITALS

WVU Medicine signs are starting to pop up at Independence Health System hospitals.  The Trib reports that officials expect the acquisition of Independence will close in early October.  While the definitive agreement was signed in June, the deal still needs to pass regulatory inspections.  Through the acquisition, WVU Medicine would become the second-largest health system operating in Western Pennsylvania, behind only the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
